Self Love

May 13, 2019

Taking care of yourself is one of the most important things you can do for your mental health!

Self-care isn't always as easy as it sounds... We spend most of our days giving all our energy to others and it's a lot easier to be hard on yourself than it is to be kind. We often don't treat ourselves with the respect we deserve! Most people tend to be harder on themselves because they don't feel deserving of their own love... but imagine what it would feel like if you treated yourself like you did your own kids. I bet your confidence would be through the roof and you'd probably have a lot more energy and patience for the people around you!

That being said... How can we practice self-love and get back on the right path??

Heres a little list of my favorite ways to practice self-love;

1. WRITE A LIST OF THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF

Find a way to focus on the good! This might sound silly, but I promise it works. It's funny how big of a difference something so simple can make.

2. GET YOUR NAILS DONE.

This is so simple. At least once a month or more, I go get my nails done and its something that's not necessarily the most important thing I do, but It makes me feel good.

3. TAKE A BATH WITH A FACE MASK AND YOUR FAVE SHOW.

I LOVE a good bath. I've been doing this a lot recently. This is a great one if you're broke and don't want to spend a bunch of money on yourself. Plus, you can do any day. So, if you're ever feeling stressed out, cut out some time for yourself to do something like this where you can decompress.

4. GET A MASSAGE.

This is a little more expensive, but it's My favorite way to show self-love.

I noticed this was always one of those things I would never buy for myself, because I felt guilty or undeserving. I almost couldn't enjoy it.

5. MEDITATE.

You know that list I told you to make ok?!? Well, here's part two! After you make your list, read through it again and then create an intention. Something that will push you forward and make you feel good. Then, focus on that while meditating! You'll feel like your glowing after this!!

Now, I know this is a small list and I'm sure there are a thousand other ways to practice self-love, but, hopefully, this will help get you started on the right path.

Show yourself love and respect every day!  The world will thank you for it!

xx
