How to Stay Motivated to Workout and Eat Well

By popular demand!

My entire life ,I've been a very active person. So, working out doesn't bother me so much! I kinda LOVE getting a good sweat. But, I definitely have weeks where I'm not feeling up to it. That's honestly part of the reason why I love Classpass so much...because you can work out with your friends and there are so many types of classes, so you never get bored!

I don't really like the idea of working out for aesthetics ,If that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is, I like to work out because of the way it makes me feel. SO, especially on those days where it feels hard to go to class, I just remind myself how good I feel after I sweat.

Eating is a whole other subject... But, Similar to working out, my main motivation is how I want to feel. I LOVE food and sweets! I definitely have a big sweet tooth, so trying to balance that out is harder for me. Everything is best in moderation. I don't like cutting things out completely. When I can't have anything, all I do is think about what I can't have!

Instead, I try to listen to my body. If you aren't used to listening to your body, this might sound crazy, but I really do crave healthy food and I think our bodies know best what we need.

Now, for how I stay motivated and keep in a healthy mindset... I love having some sort of routine when it comes to moving and eating... for example, every morning, me and Riker walk around the neighborhood and get our heart rates up a little. I think starting my day off with movement motivates me to be healthier all day long. For lunch, I try to eat as healthy as I can, so ..Salads and veggies. That way, if I eat bad for dinner at the end of the day, I don't feel absolutely terrible. Preferably, I would like to eat healthy all day every day, but sometimes you just gotta have a Kit Kat or two!

I think the best way to stay motivated is to really be in tune with your body and love yourself. Treat yourself like you would a little kid. And remember what makes you feel good! Food should be a celebration of life and... we were made to move!
