I took Riker to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar for a little 2 day get away for his birthday!

This hotel is TRULY grand! This is by far one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in...it feels like you’re in another world!

On the first day, we checked in early, so our room wasn’t quite ready for us...So went to lunch at their restaurant called Amaya. It’s an Italian inspired restaurant that’s absolutely stunning!!. The food was delicious...highly recommend! We both got salads and were both extremely impressed!!! Later that night, Riker was playing a show at the House of Blues! Afterwards, we went to this speakeasy called Raised By Wolves! It was so cute!!! If you’re in San Diego, you should definitely check it out! (It’s in a shopping mall, so it didn’t seem like it was going to be anything special, but It surprisingly very cool!)

The next morning, we ordered room service. The pastrie's were out of this world! Riker had coffee and since I’m staying away from caffeine, I had some tea.

Later that day, we had a massage at the hotel's spa. Riker and I got the couple's massage and spent some time in the saunas. The spa also had a door, that lead straight to the pool, so we ended up swimming for most of the day! We spent that afternoon roaming around the grounds. The gardens and waterfall on the property are out of a movie! So dreamy!!

Dinner at the hotel restaurant, Amaya, was by FAR my favorite part of the trip. We started with oysters and pizza and for my main dish, I ordered the prawn pasta with squid ink linguini! Seriously mind blowing!

I look forward to the next time we get to visit the Fairmont!

xx
